How Woman Calls Husky Without Having to Say Name Delights Internet

A viral TikTok with more than 14 million views is cracking people up after showing just how tuned-in dogs can be—especially when food is involved.

The short clip, filmed from the bottom of a staircase, captures a silent but extremely effective way one owner gets their dog called Sakura’s attention without ever calling her name.

The video shared to @sakuthehusky opens with a quiet shot up a set of stairs. The coast appears clear—no paws in sight—until a packet of Swiss cheese slides into frame.

The owner begins rustling the packaging and within seconds, the sound of fast “tip tapping” echoes overhead. Then, the five-year-old husky based in Miami, Florida, pops her head into view at the top of the stairs.

Text layered over the clip reads, “call your dog without actually calling your dog,” and judging by the response, the method is basically foolproof.

The video had earned around 2.1 million likes at the time of writing, as viewers marveled at Sakura’s lightning-fast appearance.

Can Dogs Eat Cheese?

Cheese can be a handy high-value reward for training and many dogs tolerate it well. But it shouldn’t become a daily habit.

Dogs can be fed small amounts of cheese in moderation, according to guidance from the American Kennel Club (AKC).

The reason is simple: cheese is high in fat and calories. Too much can contribute to weight gain and related issues such as obesity and diabetes. In some cases, overindulging in fatty foods like cheese may even trigger pancreatitis which can sometimes be fatal.

While many dogs can digest dairy without a problem, others are lactose intolerant. For them, even a little cheese can cause stomach upset, gas, or diarrhea.

If you do want to share a bite, the AKC recommends choosing low-fat cheeses such as mozzarella, cottage cheese, or soft goat cheese.

Cottage cheese is often highlighted as a particularly gentle option because it’s typically lower in fat and sodium than many other cheeses, and it tends to contain less lactose—reducing the risk of intestinal issues.

TikTok Reactions

The comment section is nearly as entertaining as Sakura’s dramatic entrance. So far, the clip has pulled in more than 14,000 comments, many from fellow owners who recognized the behavior immediately.

“I wasn’t expecting that majestic face,” one viewer wrote.

Another joked about the selective hearing that seems to kick in at the least convenient times: dogs are “suddenly deaf when you’re yelling for them to come inside though.”

And a third user leaned into the snack-themed humor, dubbing Sakura “the cheese tax collector,” a nod to the internet’s running gag that dogs believe they’re owed a portion of any cheese opened in their vicinity.

The video’s popularity shows how universal these tiny pet moments are. Whether it’s a treat bag, the clink of a leash, or the whisper of a fridge door opening, dogs have a way of proving they’re listening—just not always to what we think they’re listening for.

As for Sakura, the verdict from TikTok seems clear: if there’s Swiss cheese involved, she’s never more than a few seconds away.
