A dog owner filmed something unusual while their pup was filing his nails, and internet users can’t cope with it.
In a viral TikTok video shared on Friday by @wanderwithrescues, the pup can be seen energetically scratching his claws on a filing board on the floor, doing his own pawdicure.
As he puts all of his energy into it, stomping on the board with all of his strength, his floppy ears can be seen wiggling up and down uncontrollably.
“Just my dog filing his nails but it gets progressively more chaotic,” the caption says. “Never seen a dog so excited to get his nails done!”
Dogs’ nails usually stay short through natural wear, and the sound of clicking on hard floors doesn’t always mean they need trimming.
British animal charity Blue Cross says that licking or chewing paws can signal discomfort, but this is often due to allergies, so a vet should check for other causes or infection.
Many dogs don’t need regular nail clipping, and a vet can advise on frequency and technique. Dew claws may overgrow because they don’t touch the ground, and older, arthritic, or less active dogs may also develop long nails.
Before trimming, ensure your dog is comfortable having their paws handled. Use dog‑specific clippers, a file, or a grinder, and introduce the tools gradually with treats.
Trim only a few millimeters from the quick, the sensitive pink center of the nail, and stop if your dog becomes stressed. Black nails are harder to judge, so a vet should trim them.
If you accidentally cut the quick, use cotton wool or silver nitrate to stop bleeding.
The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 1.6 million views and 136,200 likes on the platform.
One user, Rohan, commented: “More energy more energy more footwork more footwork.”

Ashluhley added: “Ugh I love this thing, my dogs hate getting their nails clipped but they looooove scratchy time LOL.”
