Many thrifters hope to find unwanted treasures for bargain prices, but one shopper was left speechless after finding numerous designer pieces in just one visit.
Julia, 21, is no stranger to the thrift store as she loves scouring the rails for secondhand items at a fraction of the retail price. She has certainly made some memorable discoveries over the years, and she regularly shares videos of her hauls on social media (@juliaa.live on Instagram and Juliaa Vids on YouTube).
But one particular trip to the thrift store left Julia, from the U.S, utterly speechless. In one visit, she found a designer maxi dress, some Coach wedges, Gucci perfume, and a white Chanel flap bag. After seeing such an incredible collection of high-end pieces, Julia told Newsweek that she could only marvel over “how beautiful and timeless” everything looked.
She said: “I found a variety of vintage dresses, shoes, and dresses. I even found vintage Coach shoes. When I saw the amazing pieces, I thought, why would anyone donated these?”
Julia shared a video of the designer items on Instagram, and it has amazed internet viewers. The clip has gone viral with over 1.6 million views and more than 54,900 likes at the time of writing. Alongside the footage of all the thrifted finds, Julia joked that “someone’s mom donated the wrong bag.”
Unfortunately, she didn’t buy any of the items on the day because she thought it was “so overpriced” at the store. The Chanel bag was listed at $250, which is far beyond Julia’s idea of a thrifted bargain.
Despite the steep prices, she said she loved seeing so many gorgeous items waiting for a proud new owner to style them.
Julia’s social-media followers love her thrifting hauls, but this particular video certainly caught attention. Internet users couldn’t believe the quality of the items she found all in one visit.
“My viewers love when I post thrift content like this, and they loved the video,” Julia said. “I want to add that you never know what you’ll find at a thrift store. I’ve thrifted a vintage beaded dress for $4 before, and it sells for $600 online.”
Indeed, one of her most-exciting thrift-store visits was the time Julia managed to find countless Y2K-style miniskirts. Thanks to Gen Z, the early 2000s aesthetic has made its triumphant return, and thrifting has allowed Julia to stay on the fashion pulse.
Many Instagram users were in shock at the designer discoveries Julia made that day, as some even took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One comment reads: “THE SHOES??????”
Another Instagram user wrote: “The coach shoes. I GASPED.”
A third person replied: “Jackpot!!”
