A video has gone viral showing a Labrador retriever’s hilarious reaction to seeing a litter of puppies, and internet users can’t get enough of the unimpressed expression.
Many people would consider it their dream to be surrounded by a puddle of dachshund puppies; unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for one Labrador. TikTok user Kate Taylor (@kate_t1675) from New Zealand captured a video showing just how uncertain the dog was whenever the puppies approached.
During the video, the Labrador can be seen sitting on the dog bed and watching the puppies with a very unhappy expression. Indeed, as some of the dachshund pups clambered onto the bed and got close, the Labrador even looked up toward the camera as if calling in reinforcements for help.
The TikTok video was posted on October 8, and social-media users are obsessed with the dog’s utter distaste toward the litter of puppies. Since the clip went viral, it has already generated over 4.3 million views and more than 633,500 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Newsweek has contacted @kate_t1675 via TikTok for comment. We could not verify the details of the video.

While some people would struggle to control their excitement around so many puppies who are just a few weeks old, the Labrador’s reaction suggested that the dog wanted to be anywhere else. The poor canine showed zero interest in interacting, regardless of how hard the puppies tried to engage.
Needless to say, internet users can’t cope with the dog’s wholly unimpressed reaction. Many people have taken to the comments to laud the Labrador for being so unbothered, leading to more than 2,800 comments on the viral TikTok post so far.
Some commenters were curious to know whether the puppies belonged to the Labrador, but it is a purebred dachshund litter. The owner said in the comment that people should watch the video in full to see the two dachshund parents walk in front of the camera.
Perhaps it is a relief that the Labrador doesn’t have to take on the responsibility of parenting given the reaction in the clip.
