SexBomb dancer Jopay Paguia-Zamora shares the stage with Mayonnaise vocalist Monty Macalino during the second day of SexBomb Dancer's reunion concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on December 9, 2025.

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino rock band Mayonnaise recorded the song “Jopay” after seeing the SexBomb dancer crying on TV.

Over two decades later since its release in 2004, the “Jopay” hitmakers shared the stage with their song inspiration, Jopay Paguia-Zamora, on the second night of SexBomb Dancers’ reunion concert last night, December 9, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The encounter was a huge hit among the thousands who flocked the Pasay arena.

Lead vocalist Monty Macalino and his band began with the iconic line: “Jopay, kumusta ka na?”

And while the familiar notes wrapped the arena, Jopay entered the stage and hugged the lead singer. She then proceeded to dance to the song especially written for her.

Monty shared in an interview with the OG Channel uploaded on YouTube  why he was inspired to write about the popular SexBomb dancer. Jopay is known for her doll-like features and dreamy eyes or in Filipino, “nangungusap na mga mata.”

“Pagbukas ko ng TV nakita ko ‘yung isang SexBomb dancer (Jopay) umiiyak sabi ko, ‘ba’t kaya umiiyak ‘to ‘di ba nasayaw lang ‘to?’ So pumasok sa utak ko parang ‘ayaw ko siya makitang umiyak, ayoko siyang makitang malungkot,'” Macalino shared.

“So ginawa ko talaga ‘yung kanta specifically for Jopay ng Sexbomb dancers,” he said. “I wanted to create a song na would make as if we have a connection. Even if she doesn’t know me. Even if I haven’t seen her face to face.”

The SexBomb Dancers held a two-day reunion concert this month. The first day was held last December 4 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

A third part reunion concert was teased at last night’s show.

The girl group rose to fame as part of the in-house dance group of longtime noontime show “Eat Bulaga.” Their popularity made them household names, even making them TV stars via 26 seasons of the afternoon drama “Daisy Siete” that aired from 2003 to 2010 on GMA-7.
