MANILA, Philippines — Thai artist Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa of girl group Blackpink, was officially presented as an ambassador by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
For some the move announced last October appears overdue given the popularity of the K-pop group and of Lisa herself, who made her acting debut in the Thailand-based third season of "The White Lotus."
TAT presented Lisa as their Amazing Thailand Ambassador during a January 28 event in Bangkok's Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) where the agency also launched the new advertisement film "Feel All The Feelings."
The ad is part of TAT's 2026 campaign inviting tourists to Thailand and experience all the emotions the country has to offer.
Lisa attended the tourism event wearing a golden Balmain gown inspired by a dress the designer made for the late Queen Sirikit back in 1960 as part of that year's Spring/Summer Haute Couture collection.
The redesigned version worn by Lisa was a strapless evening dress with a long wraparound skirt made of satin duchess fabric, traditional Thai woven fabric in the bodice and sleeves, and a matching shawl.
The artist paired the outfit with diamond necklace from Bvlgari estimated to be worth more than P26 million.
Blackpink — where Lisa is joined by Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose — recently concluded its "Deadline" world tour ahead of the release of the group's fourth extended play, also titled "Deadline."
