MANILA, Philippines Korean boy band BTS is ramping up its comeback projects by bringing back their beloved online variety show "Run BTS".

The weekly series, which initially ran on V Live then later Weverse, saw the K-pop act do a series of activities in each episode.

The last release of "Run BTS" was a special fourth season that was filmed in 2022 before each member enlisted in the military as mandated by the Korean government.

Jin, the first member to enlist, launched tje 36-episode spin-off "Run Jin" after being discharged in 2024.

BTS dropped a 40-second teaser video of the group "getting way too invested" in reviving the series before any official announcement.

The seven members of the group — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook — are all seated in the middle of a dance studio when the leader RM suggests giving "Run BTS" a revamp.

Suga pointed out that YouTube and variety show trends have changed a lot since the show last aired in 2023.

Jimin proposed filming in a member's house, a suggestion RM deemed a "disaster", though Suga quipped about playing the guitar for eight hours, which Jungkook did agree with.

Jimin also asked V about a nickname he earned and the latter said it was "Mr. Foot 'V'olleyball", a name that had all of them laughing.

J-Hope jokingly suggested returning to the military, to which Jin responded, "What are you saying...? That's something entirely different."

A title card then announced that "Run BTS 2.0" would premiere on April 7 at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. in the Philippines).

BTS is coming off the release of its comeback album "Arirang", the group's first piece of new music in six years.

The boy band will promote the album in a sprawling world tour spanning over 82 show dates. That tour is currently slated to end with two nights in the Philippines, though a venue has yet to be confirmed.

When BTS performs in the country on March 13 and 14, 2027, it will have been a decade since its visit here as a complete group. — Video from BangtanTV's YouTube channel
