BIGBANG announces 20th anniversary world tour date at Coachella

MANILA, Philippines K-pop group BIGBANG delighted their fans, known as VIPs, as it announced that it will begin its 20th anniversary world tour in August.

G-Dragon, Daesung and Taeyang returned to the Outdoor Theatre stage on Monday afternoon (Manila time) for the second week of their Coachella stint.

The trio marked the group's biggest comeback since debuting in South Korea 20 years ago.

With a setlist that included their biggest hits, such as "Fantastic Baby," "Ringa Linga," "Good Boy" and "We Like 2 Party," the group took time to speak to fans gathered at the annual desert festival.

"Twenty years ago, BIGBANG began but we're not done yet. Like our name, this is just the beginning. A lot of special things are coming from BIGBANG," Taeyang said.

Daesung, who earlier performed a trot set, also shared a message for fans.

"Grateful that we could restart here in Coachella. Not just our comeback, this is our restart," Daesung said.

Tour announcement

G-Dragon then announced a treat for fans.

"This is a major turning point for us. From the bottom of our hearts, sincerely, we thank you. This year marks BIGBANG's 20th anniversary. Just what they say, this is just the beginning. We have a special announcement. For the first time here in Coachella, the BIGBANG 20th anniversary world tour begins in August," G-Dragon said.

After cheers from the Coachella crowd, the trio returned to the stage for their final song.

"For the last night at Coachella, this is not just a song but our story, memories and our youth," G-Dragon said before ending their set with "Still Life."
