MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara is planning to give back to jeepney drivers in honor of her late grandfather, amid the ongoing oil crisis in the country.
In an interview with media during the recent launch of KLAD Jewelry, Kyline shared her plans to extend assistance to drivers affected by rising fuel costs.
“I’m going to do something to help the drivers. It’s like an homage to my lolo, na jeepney driver before sa Bicol,” Kyline told reporters.
"So siyempre, gusto kong pumunta lang sa isang fuel station, baka po sa Quezon City or depende kung saan pwede,” she added.
Before addressing the topic, the actress admitted she was initially reluctant to share them, as she did not want to attract public attention to her charitable efforts.
"Actually, ayokong sabihin kasi it might sound like I’m doing it for publicity and ayokong maging gan’un. Baka kasi isipin na ginagamit ko ang mga nangyayari sa bansa for publicity and ang pangit naman n’un,” she said.
Kyline is the brand ambassador of the Filipino jewelry brand KLAD marking a defining moment in its brand journey with the highly anticipated launch of its Signature Collections at SM Makati, bringing together elegance, artistry and modern sophistication in one remarkable event.
The highlight of the evening was the grand reveal of the brand’s three Signature Collections — the Flower Collection, Pearl Collectio and Cubic Zirconia collection — each embodying a distinct expression of beauty and craftsmanship-from delicate, nature-inspired forms to timeless classics and contemporary brilliance.
Elevating the experience beyond jewelry, the event featured a captivating Bridal Couture segment by renowned fashion designer Russel May, where exquisite gowns were paired seamlessly with KLAD pieces.
