'Sina B1 at B2 laging magkasama': 'Bananas in Pyjamas' returns with reboot

MANILA, Philippines — "Sina B1 at B2, laging magkasama." Australian show "Bananas in Pyjamas" was a popular 1990s children's series that was also shown in other countries, such as the Philippines with a Tagalog dub, that news of its planned reboot brought out the nostalgia from its fans. 

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) announced the revival of the hit children show in a social media post. 

"Big news. 'Bananas in Pyjamas' is set to return to production!" ABC announced.

"The new series will stay true to the whimsical spirit of the original and introduce mischievous twins B1 and B2 to a new generation of young viewers. Set once again in the friendly neighborhood of Cuddles Avenue, the series invites children into a playful world filled with music, humor, role playing and invention," it added.

The reboot was made possible after the Australian government announced a three-year funding allocation in 2025.

“‘Bananas in Pyjamas’ has long held a cherished place in Australian children’s television, delighting generations of families. With the support of additional funding, we’re thrilled to reimagine this playful series full of heart and humor for today’s young viewers in partnership with Windmill Production Company,” ABC screen director Jennifer Collins said in a statement. 

"Bananas in Pyjamas" aired on ABC from 1992 to 2001. The beloved children’s program was later revived as a CGI-animated series in 2011, which ran for two years. It was aired in the Philippines via ABS-CBN.
