MANILA, Philippines — Global star Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa of Blackpink, was spotted wearing Filipino-made ballet sneakers during Night 3 of the Korean girl group's "Deadline" tour Singapore stop over the weekend.
The footwear, a chrome pair from local independent brand GVN, appeared in fan-taken videos circulating online.
In an Instagram post, the brand said a member of Lisa's team reached out just days before Blackpink's scheduled Philippine stop last November 22 and 23 to request a pull-out of the sneakers.
"We were skeptical at first because it was too good to be true but we wanted to shoot our shot and see what could happen," the brand shared.
Unsure if the opportunity would push through, the team sent the pair "on the chance that it might be used."
The brand later received footage confirming that Lisa wore the sneakers onstage, calling it a "pinch-me moment" and noting that they did not expect to be chosen among numerous international options.
"We are at loss for words!" the brand's Instagram post read. "We honestly still can't believe it! Truly a pinch-me moment."
The appearance marks a global spotlight for the Filipino label, which has built a following for its designs.
GVN, formerly Giovanne the Label, was founded in 2016 by sisters Keisha and Kaitlin Lao. The brand now produces footwear like its signature ballet sneakers, as well as a range of bags, including hobo, baguette, and bowler styles.
