MANILA, Philippines — Singer KZ Tandingan has announced that she is now an independent artist.
KZ shared the news on Instagram following her recent concert with her husband, TJ Monterde, titled "In Between" at the Araneta Coliseum.
"Thank you to everyone who became part of the historic four-night concert series at the Araneta Coliseum for 'In Between.' That experience will always be one of the biggest milestones of my life. It was loud and historic and overwhelming in the best way," KZ said.
"But in the middle of that big moment, something very personal was unfolding too. With the love and support of my first home, Star Music, my management, my family, and my ever-supportive husband, I’ve stepped into a new season," she added.
The singer then announced that she is now independent.
"That both excites and scares me. I’m still finding my footing, still learning as I go. But I’m choosing courage. I’m choosing growth. I’m choosing to trust myself," she said.
She also shared that her new song "Sinong Magmamahal Sa 'Kin" was her first independent release.
"I wrote it for my sister — and for anyone who’s always been the strong one. The one who holds everything together, even when they’re quietly breaking," she said.
"It’s for the people who rarely get asked if they’re okay. The ones who carry so much but still show up with love. And deep down, they’re just hoping someone will see them too," she added.
Now that she is independent, KZ shared what she hopes for her new journey.
"As I step into this new chapter, I’m holding onto hope — that growth will meet me where fear lives, that courage will meet me where doubt tries to settle," she said.
"If this song finds you in a quiet, tired place, I hope it reminds you that your strength doesn’t make you less deserving of care. You are allowed to be held, too.
"Thank you for staying. Thank you for walking with me through every in between."
