Belle Mariano on the importance of self-care: ‘Self-care for me is really important because that’s where you get your energy to present yourself to the world. To show your best version out there, you really need to take care of yourself. There is nothing wrong with forming that kind of healthy relationship with yourself.’

MANILA, Philippines — Despite her hectic schedule as an actress, Belle Mariano chooses to prioritize self-care.

“Self-care for me is really important because that’s where you get your energy to present yourself to the world,” the singer-actress stated at the Sanicare’s “Hygiene Hangout” event held at Sevenscape in San Juan City.

“To show your best version out there, you really need to take care of yourself. There is nothing wrong with forming that kind of healthy relationship with yourself,” she added.

The self-care mantra that she lives by is “self-care isn’t selfish.” As she elaborated, “It’s okay to take a step back, have a day off from social media or unwind with friends. This allows me to recharge and deliver my best in everything I do.”

Sanicare brand ambassador Belle shares her self-care routine during the ‘Hygiene Hangout’ event held in San Juan City.

Belle, the personal hygiene brand ambassador, emphasized that “feeling fresh gives her comfort and confidence,” which is why she makes sure to take care of herself. “I allot time to do my self-care (routine) or even if that’s just bringing hankies or wipes, that’s a form of self-care. So, I really allot that care to unwind and to just really take care of myself.”

Another form of self-care for Belle is taking time off from social media. It’s one way of looking after herself not only physically but mentally as well, Belle reflected. “To really stay grounded and remind yourself who you are, that’s a form of self-care. ‘Cause I feel like in the world of social media, we lose ourselves.”

“There’s a lot of factors that can affect us but at the same time, you really need to take a step back to remind yourself, ‘Hey, this is Belle,’” shared she.

To add to that, Belle has taken up painting lately as a way to relax. “I bought this book na tuturuan ka niya mag-paint. It’s watercoloring book and it helps me relax. I also read books if I have time or even just watching movies and doing nothing. Doing nothing doesn’t mean being unhealthy.”

The “Can’t Buy Me Love” actress also reflected on her partnership with the personal hygiene brand, saying, “I grew up using Sanicare, from my early days in the industry. Knowing that the brand shares the same advocacy I truly believe in, which is self-care, makes me proud to be part of this family.”

“At Sanicare, we believe hygiene goes beyond a routine — it’s part of who you are,” remarked Jazel Marielli Ramos Yeo, marketing communications manager of Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. “This event was our way of showing that personal care can be both practical and expressive. Everyone can find a Sanicare product that fits their unique lifestyle.”

The “Hygiene Hangout” event featured three interactive lifestyle zones: Chill Minimalist, Fresh Trendsetter and Always-Ready Planner, each reflecting a distinct hygiene personality. Attendees took part in DIY charm-making, enjoyed mocktails inspired by the brand and took photos at the booth to capture the “Hygiene BFF” moments.
