MANILA, Philippines – The 74th Miss Universe coronation night is set for November 21, 9 am Manila time, where Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo will vie for the international crown in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event will air live across ABS-CBN platforms, including Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Metro Channel, and iWant.
The reigning queen, Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig, will crown her successor during the event.
Viewers can also watch the pageant’s Swimsuit Runway show beforehand, which will air on November 15, at 8 pm, on Metro Channel, ANC, and iWant. There will also be a replay on November 16 at 9:30 pm on Kapamilya Channel.
Manalo, who hails from Quezon province, was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 on May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Her victory was sealed by a memorable moment during the evening gown segment, where she stumbled on stage but quickly recovered with grace. She even turned the fall into an inspiring message during the Q&A portion for the top 6 candidates.
“I fell a while ago on stage. And the thing with me is, whenever I fall in life, I always make sure I come back stronger. Last year, I was here on this stage, and for the second time this year, I’m here, putting everything on this stage to be Miss Universe Philippines, because this is mine and my grandmother’s shared dream. And she passed away early this year. And this is my ode to her,” she said.
The beauty queen carries a solid pageant record. Aside from her first runner-up Miss International stint in 2018, she placed second runner-up in Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and later represented the country in Miss Cosmo 2024, where she finished in the top 10.
Manalo hopes to win the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown, following the victories of Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Gray (2018). – Rappler.com
