MANILA, Philippines – With a touch of chic Parisian flair, French fashion brand Maje has officially opened its first boutique store in the Philippines on the first floor of Greenbelt 5, Makati City.

The international label founded in Paris in 1998 by Judith Milgrom is known for its contemporary approach to women’s fashion — ready-to-wear, seasonal pieces that blend tailored structure with softer, feminine elements, colors, textures, and vibrant patterns.

It falls in between fast fashion and luxury, described as “accessible high-end or contemporary luxury.” The pieces in the Manila boutique are versatile enough for classy everyday wear but distinct in cut and detail, with tank tops starting at around P6,000, tailored shorts at P15,000, and summer dresses starting at over P20,000.

The Greenbelt 5 store is modest in size, with a minimalist and neutral layout that mirrors its international branches. Just a few racks are found around the space, with items grouped by color palettes or patterns.

A small shelf by the wall displays bags and shoes, while the overall setup makes it easy to focus on individual pieces leisurely.

In a statement, Anthony Huang, president of local distributor Stores Specialists Incorporated (SSI), said the brand’s arrival “responds to changing preferences among Filipino shoppers” who are looking for more refined yet expressive fashion options.

Milgrom, Maje’s founder, pointed to Manila’s “developing fashion sensibility” as a reason for the brand’s first Philippine foray. (READ: Philippine middle class levels up)
