Girl’s Day Bang Minah, Korean actor On Joo-wan surprise fans with marriage announcement

MANILA, Philippines – K-pop artist Bang Minah and actor On Joo-wan will tie the knot in November, according to a report by Soompi

The couple’s wedding plans were confirmed by their respective agencies on Friday, July 4. Their marriage will be celebrated privately, with only the Korean stars’ families and friends expected to attend.

Haewadal Entertainment, representing On, announced the upcoming marriage stating, “After a serious relationship, our actor On Ju Wan and actress Bang Minah have decided to spend the rest of their lives together starting this November.”

Meanwhile Bang’s agency, SM C&C, confirmed the statement saying, “The two of them have known each other for a long time, and their relationship blossomed into love.”

Both agencies have asked fans of each actor to give their blessings as the couple enters a new stage in their lives starting November. Furthermore, they have also reaffirmed that On, 41, and Bang, 32, will continue with their acting careers even after marriage. 

In 2010, Bang debuted as a member with K-pop girl group “Girl’s Day” with hit songs such as “Something” and “I’ll Be Yours.” She later took on acting roles in dramas such as My Absolute Boyfriend (2019) and Delivery Man (2023)

She also appeared in the film Snowball (2021) where she won the Screen International Rising Star Asia Award at the New York Asian Film Festival, according to Forbes.

On started his acting career in 2002 in Rustic Period. He later starred in the hit drama series The Penthouse: A War In Life (2020-2021) as Baek Joon Ki where he made a guest appearance in the second season and became a recurring cast member on the final season.

His other works include Man in the Kitchen (2017) and Moon in the Day (2023).

The couple first met in 2016 when they were filming for the drama Beautiful Gong Shim and later reunited in 2021 through the stage musical The Days. Their relationship deepened during the progression of the play as reported in The Korea Times. – Mikay Tormon/Rappler.com
