
MANILA, Philippines – Veteran South Korean actor Choi Jung-woo died, his agency Bless Entertainment confirmed on Tuesday, May 27, according to a Soompi report.
The exact cause of death was not disclosed.
The actor’s funeral will reportedly be held at Gimpo Woori Hospital Funeral Home, with a procession scheduled for 10 am on Thursday, May 29.
Born in 1957, Choi began his acting career in the performing arts in 1975 with the stage play The Life of an Actor. Over the decades, he established himself as a versatile performer, appearing in theater productions with companies such as Shinsi and working as a voice actor for Tongyang Broadcasting, cementing his impact on the Korean entertainment industry.
He was recognized for roles in acclaimed dramas and films, such as the God’s Quiz series, Two Cops, Brilliant Legacy, Prosecutor Princess, Midas, My Daughter Seo Young, Master’s Sun, and Call It Love, as well as for playing Lee Min-ho’s character’s father in the hit 2016 drama The Legend of the Blue Sea. He was also known for acting in City Hunter with Min-ho and Park Min-young.
His film credits include Public Enemy 2, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, and The Chaser. He also recently appeared in Tyrant, Who Is She!, and The Tale of Lady Ok. – Rappler.com
