Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce, the American football star, will reportedly take place on July 3.
The pop superstar will tie the knot in New York on the day before America’s Independence Day, according to Page Six.
The gossip website reports that “save the date” invitations have been sent to guests, and that the couple shelved plans for a ceremony in Rhode Island, where Swift owns an estate, to accommodate more guests in New York.
Swift, who released a Netflix documentary in 2020 about her life and rise to fame titled Miss Americana, counts July 4 as her favourite holiday.
The 36-year-old also released a track titled Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince on her 2019 album, Lover.
Fans interpret “Miss Americana” as her public persona. At the time, she was dating Joe Alwyn, the British actor. The couple are thought to have lived in the UK, in London’s affluent Primrose Hill area, for the majority of their six-year relationship.
Swift has also lived in New York, and one of her most well-known songs is titled Welcome to New York.
This year’s July 4 celebrations will also mark America’s 250th anniversary. Mr Trump will mark it with a large “Freedom 250” celebration.
A fair will be set up on Washington’s National Mall from June 25 to July 10 with concerts from “big-name talent”, according to the white house. Other events include a national prayer event, a “salute to America” during the traditional July 4 fireworks display on the Mall, as well as a gathering of naval ships in New York Harbour.
The planned events aim “to inspire a renewed love for American history, encourage citizens to experience the beauty of our country, ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation to help our nation succeed for the next 250 years, and invite Americans to pray for our country and our people and rededicate ourselves as One Nation Under God”, according to the White House.
Kelce, 36, proposed to the record-setting four-time Grammy winner in August last year. She announced the engagement to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on Instagram.
The post showed Kelce on one knee, as well as a photo of her engagement ring – an antique elongated cushion-cut diamond estimated to be worth between $670,000 (£500,000) and $1m (£750,000).
In the caption, Swift wrote: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The pair have been dating since 2023. Their nuptials are one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings of all time.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was thrust into a new level of fame after their romance was publicly confirmed by Swift’s appearance at Missouri’s Arrowhead Stadium in September that year alongside Donna Kelce, her fiancé’s mother, in a VIP suite.
The US president, who previously declared on Truth Social “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT”, wished the singer and Kelce good luck. Speaking during a cabinet meeting – that Fox News cut away from to cover the proposal – Mr Trump said: “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great guy and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck,” he added.
Swift, whose net worth is approximately $1.6bn (£1.19bn), is yet to publicly confirm any details about the upcoming wedding.
Representatives for Swift and Kelce were contacted for comment.
