TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn tour has reached a historic milestone, surpassing the billion-dollar mark in gross revenue worldwide. This achievement makes it the highest-grossing tour by a solo male artist in history, surpassing several big names from pop to rock. According to Abel Tesfaye's team, the surge in revenue occurred after additional ticket sales for the 2026 schedule in Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and the UK, as reported by Billboard.

With the addition of these schedules, the total number of tickets sold has now exceeded 7.5 million from 153 shows since July 2022. As of last August, Billboard Boxscore reported that the tour had generated $635.5 million (around Rp10.5 trillion) and sold 5.1 million tickets, making it the biggest R&B tour of all time.

The Weeknd's Historic Records

After Hours Til Dawn not only broke revenue records but also set various attendance records. The Weeknd became the only R&B artist and Black artist to sell over five million tickets in a single tour, and one of eight artists in history to surpass the $600 million revenue mark. The 2025 tour in North America also broke attendance records for Black male artists in various cities, including New York, Seattle, Montreal, Orlando, and Houston.

The tour has now been listed among the biggest of all time, alongside tours by Elton John, Harry Styles, and Coldplay. Its achievements also surpassed Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, which recorded $579.8 million from 56 shows.

Global Confirmation

As quoted in The Economic Times, The Weeknd's global tour now ranks as the third biggest tour in history. Only two tours surpass it: Coldplay's Music of the Spheres and Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. The tour, which covers North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Latin America, and Australia, is expected to continue growing until 2026.

The Weeknd not only dominates the stage but also strengthens his reign in the music industry. In 2023, Guinness World Records honored him as the "World's Most Popular Artist," while Blinding Lights was named the all-time number one song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Impact and Humanitarian Dedication

The financial success of this tour has also brought a significant humanitarian impact. To date, over $8.5 million (around Rp141 billion) has been channeled to the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, while the 2026 tour earnings will support the World Food Programme. A pair of free tickets is also provided for each tour date through the Global Citizen initiative, expanding access for fans.

2026 Tour Schedule

The extended tour will commence on April 20, 2026, in Mexico City before continuing to Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, London, and Madrid. Produced by Live Nation and supported by Nespresso, this concert series is predicted to set new records, given the high global demand.
