TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After a nearly four year hiatus, the world’s biggest K-pop group BTS has been handsomely in the headlines of the pop scene. And it’s likely to remain that way for months ahead, especially as the South Korean boyband has revealed the tracklist for their upcoming album just recently.
Arriving on March 20, “Arirang” album will feature a 14-song tracklist, with “Swim” centering as the lead single. The song is said to be an upbeat alternative pop song that describes the spirit of perseverance and continuing to move forward in life even in the midst of a storm.
BTS also use this highly anticipated return to carry the stories of their journey and cultural roots. According to Forbes, the album title, “Arirang,” is drawn from the traditional Korean folk song, which stands as a symbol of Korean identity. The group is said to have dedicated several tracks to their fans, mirroring their growth over the years and the bond they have built together throughout their rise to global fame.

As noted by CNA Lifestyle, the band’s members took part in penning the songs. Specifically, group leader RM is credited on 13 tracks, followed by Suga with 11 tracks and J-Hope with 10. Meanwhile, Jungkook holds credits on four songs, while V and Jimin are each credited on two tracks.
Alongside BTS themselves, the upcoming “Arirang” album also brings in major names behind the scenes, with production credits from Ryan Tedder, the frontman of OneRepublic. He’s joined by collaborators such as American DJ and music producer Diplo, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, and Australian producer Flume.
