TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Three members of the K-pop group BLACKPINK, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose, attended Met Gala 2025. They arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and posed separately on the red carpet on Monday night, May 5, 2025.
Jennie was the first to arrive, followed by Lisa, then Rose. Meanwhile, their fellow member Jisoo did not attend. Three out of the four BLACKPINK members appeared at Met Gala 2025 representing different fashion houses. This year marks Lisa's debut at the Met Gala. Jennie and Rose had previously attended in the preceding years.
Met Gala 2025 held a special significance for the three BLACKPINK members. Rose expressed her joy in being able to reunite with Jennie and Lisa at this year's Met Gala. "The last time I came, I was alone, so I am very, very excited to meet the girls. I've only been with them in the studio in Korea, so it feels great to be united with family here," she told Vogue.
Jennie Talks About BLACKPINK's World Tour
Jennie is a brand ambassador for Chanel. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, she wore a custom-designed Chanel tuxedo dress with a black jumpsuit underneath. The dress featured classic white flowers and pearls from Chanel.
Her look was inspired by Coco Chanel's style in the 1920s and 30s. Jennie also wore a black hat with white trim. "I did my best in my research," Jennie mentioned on the red carpet.
Moreover, she also hinted about BLACKPINK's upcoming world tour that will commence in July 2025. "I can't be the one to reveal everything, but it's going to be great. We can't wait to meet our fans," she said.
Lisa's Met Gala Debut
Shortly after Jennie, Lisa arrived wearing an ensemble from Louis Vuitton. Lisa is the global brand ambassador for the French fashion house. She wore a black bodysuit with a long-sleeved perforated jacket on top. The bodysuit was paired with pearl and gold waist chains, tight pants, and a black and white bowler bag. In her first year, Lisa appeared with blonde hair.
Rose Teases BLACKPINK's New Song Release
Rose arrived later than her counterparts at the end of the red carpet. She also represented her role as an ambassador wearing attire from Saint Laurent's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello. Rose wore a specially tailored tuxedo, in line with the evening's theme, along with red high-heeled shoes.
The singer completed her look with a platinum Tiffany & Co necklace and 18-karat yellow gold with a 14-karat sapphire and diamond, along with a platinum ring featuring diamonds and sapphires.
Rose then revealed some information about BLACKPINK's future when asked about the upcoming tour. "We will be releasing new music, so I think it will be a very different approach in how we tell the next tour," Rose said.
Met Gala is an annual fundraising event held by the Costume Institute. The theme of Met Gala 2025 is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, inspired by Monica L. Miller's book titled Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity (2009).
