TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico is attracting a large number of tourists. An Expedia report, quoted by The Independent, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, shows that interest in traveling to these three countries next summer increased by 245 percent after the draw. But which cities in these three countries are most in demand during the 2026 World Cup?

According to the report, Boston shot to the top of the ranking of trending football cities. Searches for the Massachusetts state capital increased by 1,000 percent. The majority of tourists searching for information about the city are fans of English and Scottish football teams. They account for 65 percent of all Boston searches. This is because the city is hosting their favorite teams' matches.

The Scottish team will play their first match against Haiti in Boston on June 13. Searches for fans of the national team are 10 times higher than searches for English fans for the Three Lions' match against Ghana on June 23 in the same city.

Boston will host seven matches in the 2026 World Cup, including two knockout matches in the final stages of the tournament. Boston will also host Scotland's match against Morocco on June 19.

After Boston, New York ranked second as the most popular city, while Miami came in third.

Searches for Dallas also saw a sharp increase of 900 percent. The Texas city will host nine matches, including England's opening match against Croatia on June 17, and four knockout matches in the final stages of the tournament.

The biggest search volume for Dallas was driven by Japanese fans, who accounted for a third of travel searches. Japan will kick off its match at Dallas Stadium against the Netherlands on June 14, then play again on June 25 against Albania, Poland, Sweden, or Ukraine.
