TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The countries that compete in the 2026 Olympics are officially represented by 92 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), as recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). While many NOCs correspond directly to sovereign nations, several represent territories and regions, allowing places such as Hong Kong and Puerto Rico to field their own athletes under separate Olympic delegations.
Set against the iconic backdrops of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Games will feature approximately 2,900 athletes who unite to compete for national pride across 16 Olympic disciplines. Every NOC sends a varying number of athletes, with the United States leading the field by qualifying 232 athletes and three alternates for the competition.
Here is the complete list of countries that compete in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, citing USA Today and NBC Los Angeles.
