How to see the northern lights
As with other natural light shows, the best way to view the northern lights in the U.S. tonight is to find a location with dark skies and minimal light pollution. Open fields, hilltops, parks, and coastlines offer some of the best vantage points for viewing. Be sure to wear warm clothing as well, and spend around 30 minutes in the dark to let your eyes adapt to the darkness.
