Honda is entering a deeper phase of electrification, accompanied by a symbolic change in its brand identity. According to Honda representatives in the US, the new H logo will only appear on electric and hybrid models launched after 2027, while internal combustion engine models will continue to use the current logo.

This is not a complete logo change, but rather a controlled transition, clearly reflecting Honda's parallel strategy during this transitional period: maintaining traditional products while promoting electric vehicles.

Honda is preparing to change its logo for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Compared to the familiar emblem, Honda's new H logo is designed with a borderless, flatter, and cleaner line. This style aligns with modern design trends in electric vehicles, while also creating a clearer sense of technology and the future.

According to Honda, the new logo will not only appear on vehicles but will also be gradually rolled out across dealerships, brand communication activities, and even motorsports . This is seen as a visual positioning tool, helping consumers easily identify the company's products belonging to the "electrification era."

The new H logo was first introduced on concept models of the 0 Series, launching in early 2024. The first production vehicle expected to use this emblem is the 0 SUV, manufactured in Ohio (USA). Although the car was initially planned for a 2026 launch, Honda has confirmed that the official adoption of the new logo will begin in 2027.

Following the 0 SUV, the company will continue to unveil the 0 Saloon, a sedan on the same platform, also featuring an illuminated logo. Alongside it is the 0 Alpha SUV, a globally oriented compact electric SUV, focusing on markets such as Japan and India.

Notably, Honda asserts that the new H logo is not limited to purely electric vehicles. Between 2027 and 2031, the company plans to launch 13 new-generation e:HEV hybrid models with higher efficiency and optimized fuel consumption. These hybrid models will also bear the new logo.

This means that the next generations of familiar names like Civic or CR-V could very well be among the first products to use the new H logo.

The H logo has been associated with Honda since 1963 and has been refined in 1969, 1981, 1991, and 2001.

At this time, Honda has not announced plans to apply the new logo to purely internal combustion engine models. The company emphasizes that the rollout strategy for the new branding will be gradual, prioritizing electrified vehicles before expanding to other areas of its business ecosystem.

The H logo has been associated with Honda since 1963 and has been refined in 1969, 1981, 1991, and 2001. The latest version is inspired by the image of two outstretched hands, symbolizing a "re-establishment" of the brand as Honda enters the most important transformation phase in its history.

In the context of the global automotive industry's accelerating electrification, Honda's selective logo change demonstrates that the company is not hastily following trends, but rather building a new identity alongside its long-term product roadmap.
