Upon discovering a rare gibbon that had wandered into his family's garden, Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh (Doan Ket village, Ta Nang commune, Lam Dong province) handed it over to the authorities.
On the evening of January 6th, Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh Sang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ta Nang commune ( Lam Dong province), announced that the locality had completed the procedures to hand over a white-cheeked gibbon to Cat Tien National Park for care.
Previously, Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh (Doan Ket village, Ta Nang commune) discovered a gibbon in his garden (the owner could not be identified), so he captured it to hand it over to the police.
By the afternoon of January 6th, during the inspection process, authorities determined that this was a white-cheeked gibbon (belonging to group IB), weighing approximately 10kg.
Immediately afterwards, the People's Committee of Ta Nang commune contacted Cat Tien National Park to carry out the procedures for handover and care.
