Inter Miami overcame a stalemate to defeat Salt Lake, thanks to moments of brilliance from De Paul and Suarez in the final minutes of the match.
Inter Miami had a difficult match against Salt Lake despite being considered the stronger team. In the 5th minute, the home team nearly conceded a goal when Guilavogui successfully scored, but luck was on their side as the goal was disallowed for offside.
After narrowly avoiding defeat, Inter Miami gradually regained control of the game. In the 22nd minute, Lionel Messi thrilled the crowd with a powerful volley from a tight angle, but goalkeeper Cabral made an excellent save. The first half was quite tight, with Salt Lake organizing a disciplined defense, making Inter Miami's attacks lack sharpness.
In the second half, Messi's team increased the pressure. In the 50th minute, the Argentine superstar made a breakthrough run before providing a perfect assist, but Berterame unfortunately missed the chance. Conversely, Salt Lake also created several dangerous opportunities but failed to capitalize on them.
In a closely contested match, the difference came from individual moments. In the 82nd minute, De Paul unleashed a beautiful curling shot to open the scoring. Just over a minute later, Luis Suarez further impressed with an improvised finish, sealing a 2-0 victory.
