An interesting survey conducted among British tourists revealed that Vietnam is among the top countries they 'most wish to visit'.

A survey of 2,000 travelers revealed mixed results regarding destination preferences and travel habits among British tourists. For example, 43% like to compare the number of foreign destinations they've visited with others. Reasons for mentioning their "number of countries" include wanting to impress others with their worldview and adventurous spirit, making others think they've traveled more than others, or portraying them as "wealthy."

Among those who mention the number of countries they have visited, more than 4 out of 10 (44%) will "casually" bring up the topic in casual travel conversations, while 38% will immediately name a country they have visited as soon as someone else mentions it.

The study also revealed that 34% of travelers consider their list of visited countries as "a source of pride," and one-fifth feel "a sense of superiority" compared to those who have visited fewer countries.

A spokesperson for Staysure Travel Insurance, the company that commissioned the survey, said: "Traveling abroad is exciting and the memories made with friends and family can last a lifetime. So it's no surprise that people love talking about the places they've been and comparing the number of countries they've visited."

The survey also revealed that New Zealand (24%), Japan (23%), and Australia (18%) topped the list of dream destinations. Meanwhile, Canada was almost twice as popular as the US (17% compared to 8%). However, Belgium ranked last among the top 50 countries people want to visit for the first time.

In the top 50 countries that tourists "most wish to visit," Vietnam ranks 15th. In Southeast Asia, Thailand ranks 11th, Singapore 17th, the Philippines 36th, Malaysia 38th, Cambodia 47th, and Indonesia 49th. More broadly across Asia, Japan ranks 2nd, South Korea 23rd, India 26th, and China 29th.
