According to Car News China, citing the head of BYD's Dynasty sales network, the new generation BYD Atto 3 received more than 30,000 orders in China in its first week of sales.
In its home country, the BYD Atto 3 is sold under the name Yuan Plus. The third generation of this B+ segment SUV was officially launched on May 21st with a starting price of 119,800 RMB, equivalent to approximately $17,705 USD .
One of the notable changes on the new generation BYD Atto 3 is the Blade 2.0 battery technology along with Flash Charging super-fast charging. Developed on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform, the car uses an LFP battery with capacity options of 57.5 kWh or 68.5 kWh, providing a maximum range of 540-630 km per charge, as stated in the CLTC cycle.
Not only does it improve the driving range by an additional 120 km compared to its predecessor, the BYD Atto 3 can also recharge 10-97% of its battery capacity in 9 minutes under ideal conditions, thanks to its integrated super-fast charging technology.
Compared to its predecessor, the BYD Atto 3 currently sold in China has significantly improved dimensions, with length x width x height measuring 4,665 x 1,895 x 1,675 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,770 mm.
Thanks to the switch to rear-wheel drive, the new generation BYD Atto 3 can accommodate an additional 180-liter storage compartment under the hood, alongside the 750-liter luggage compartment at the rear.
In its third generation, BYD became a rear-wheel-drive electric SUV, equipped with a single motor offering power options of 268 hp or 321 hp, combined with DiSus-C damping, iTAC 2.0 torque control system, and TBC tire blowout stability control system.
On higher trim levels, the new generation BYD Atto 3 can be equipped with the advanced God's Eye B driver assistance system, which uses LiDAR and 30 other sensors to assist with navigation on highways and in urban areas, as well as automatic parking.
The new generation BYD Atto 3's cockpit features a larger, floating central touchscreen running the latest DiLink system. The car includes a head-up display (HUD), electronic gear shifter behind the steering wheel, a 50W wireless charging pad, ventilated and heated front seats, and a cooled storage compartment. This B+-segment SUV also offers Queen Seat passenger seating with footrests.
According to Car News China , the BYD Atto 3 launched its new generation amidst a prolonged period of declining domestic sales for the model. BYD Yuan Plus sales in its home country reached 5,111 units in April, down 21.9% from March and 58.4% lower than the same period last year.
The previous generation BYD Yuan Plus was able to maintain sales of over 11,000 vehicles per month for several consecutive reporting periods in 2025. Months with strong sales for the electric SUV include June 2025 with 13,168 vehicles, September 2025 with 12,661 vehicles, and May 2025 with 12,255 vehicles delivered to customers.
In Vietnam, the BYD Atto 3 is one of the first three models from the BYD brand, officially launched in July 2024. The car comes in two versions, priced at VND 766 million for the Dynamic version and VND 886 million for the Premium version.
