Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that agencies, units, and localities implement comprehensive solutions to improve service quality, ensure safety, and create a positive impression for tourists.
To meet the tourism needs of the people and visitors, Quang Ninh province encourages restaurants and service establishments to remain open throughout the Tet holiday, especially on the 29th day of the 12th lunar month, and the 1st and 2nd days of Tet. Local authorities, units, and service businesses are required to ensure sufficient staffing; inspect and maintain facilities and equipment to serve tourists; organize additional cultural, artistic, and sporting activities; and develop appropriate pricing policies and offer discounts on weekdays or during off-peak periods to stimulate tourism.
The Provincial People's Committee requests that localities and relevant departments and agencies strengthen management to ensure a civilized and safe tourism environment. This includes focusing on improving environmental sanitation; decorating lighting systems and ceremonial arrangements in localities; closely monitoring price listings and strictly handling acts of commercial fraud, price gouging, or exploiting festivals to illegally increase prices; developing traffic flow plans and installing directional signs to reduce localized congestion at tourist areas and attractions; and strengthening residential management at accommodation establishments to ensure security and order.
The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Health Department to coordinate with relevant units to inspect the origin of goods and ensure food safety before, during, and after Tet, especially during the Spring festivals following Tet.
In addition, efforts to promote civilized tourism behavior and advertise tourist destinations will be intensified to attract visitors, extend their length of stay, and avoid localized overcrowding at destinations.
During the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, tourism businesses in Quang Ninh proactively implemented various preferential policies and flexible stimulus programs to attract tourists. Many hotels and accommodations in the Bai Chay, Hon Gai, and Ha Long areas offered discounts of 30% to 40% on accommodation and food services for tourists who booked early for the Tet holiday. Some businesses launched integrated service packages combining accommodation, food, and cultural experiences to increase competitiveness and retain tourists; they also invested in decorating spaces with traditional Tet themes and organized experiential activities such as making banh chung (traditional rice cakes), receiving lucky money, and participating in the "Spring at the Border" program; and developed specialized menus such as "Flavors of the Homeland Tet" recreating folk dishes and regional specialties to serve guests during the Spring festival.
In 2026, Quang Ninh's tourism industry has set ambitious goals, striving to welcome 22 million visitors, including 5.2 million international tourists; and achieving total tourism revenue of at least 65,000 billion VND (equivalent to over 2.5 billion USD).
