While the summer movie season is witnessing fierce competition from numerous historical dramas, the romance genre set in the Republic of China era has finally produced a formidable contender: " That Moment Crossed the Boundary. "
Although originally scheduled to premiere on July 4th, the drama ultimately did not air on time. However, audience anticipation caused interest on Tencent Video to skyrocket to 10,362 points, propelling the series to second place on the TV drama rankings even before its official broadcast.
Currently, "That Moment Beyond Limits" has surpassed 6 million pre-orders on both iQIYI and Tencent Video platforms and is still growing.
A captivating, heartbreaking love story.
Adapted from the classic novel "If I Hadn't Met You That Moment" by author Fei Wo Si Cun, the series attracted attention even before its broadcast.
Pre-orders on both platforms quickly surpassed 5 million, thanks to its fateful storyline, striking cast, and strong reputation as one of the top contenders for the title of the most emotionally intense period drama of the year.

Fans of romance novels know that Fei Nga Tu Ton's works are always famous for their poignant love stories, conflicting emotions, and ability to touch the hearts of readers.
Set against the backdrop of Shanghai during the Republic of China era, a place both prosperous and chaotic, "That Moment Beyond Limits" tells the story of a lifetime of destiny between two lovers who are caught in a whirlwind of revenge and conflict.
The perfect couple: Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan
Zhang Linghe plays Murong Qingyi, the youngest son of a warlord family. From a young age, he had to live in a difficult situation, being treated harshly by his adoptive father and experiencing all the bitterness of life early on.
While fleeing from danger, he unexpectedly meets Ren Su Su (Wang Chu Ran), the daughter of a family that deals in medicinal herbs. Her gentleness and kindness save him, and a youthful love secretly blossoms between them.

But fate did not grant them a happy ending. The appearance of Murong Qingyi inadvertently brought disaster to the Ren family. In just one night, the Ren clan was destroyed.
From a gentle, carefree young lady, Ren Su Su falls into the abyss of tragedy, burdened with a deep-seated blood feud. She is forced to change her name, fake her death to escape, abandon her old identity, and begin a life of hiding, awaiting her revenge. Her once pure love is thus transformed into a deep-seated hatred.
Years later, the two meet again, but everything has changed completely. Ren Su Su returns with a new appearance and identity, becoming a cold, patient woman who is steadily working her way up to the center of power to carry out her revenge plan.
What's even more heartbreaking is that this reunion sees her appearing as the fiancée of the male protagonist's older brother. Between them lies not only a family feud and moral obligations, but also countless misunderstandings.

This is the first time Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan have collaborated. With the male lead's height of 1.9m and the female lead's gentle, classic beauty, both are said to be "born to star in period dramas."
The height difference of approximately 18cm, combined with the images of military uniforms and cheongsam dresses, creates a striking visual effect. Many behind-the-scenes videos of the couple have attracted over 50 million views in a short period of time.
Besides the content, the team also invested in recreating the setting of Shanghai during the Republic of China era, with its ancient streets, nostalgic backdrops, meticulous costumes and styling, and rich cinematic visual language, contributing to a complete portrayal of the prosperity mixed with tragedy of a historical period.
In addition, the production team invested heavily in costumes. Zhang Linghe alone was provided with approximately 20 tailored suits, while Wang Churan wore 27 handcrafted cheongsams.
