The Porsche Cayenne Electric made its debut in Southeast Asia, using a new platform, boasting 442 horsepower, and priced from $109,000 (approximately 2.85 billion VND) at BIMS 2026.
At the Bangkok Motor Show 2026, Porsche chose the Cayenne Electric as its highlight model at the booth, instead of its usual
sports car lineup. This all-electric SUV was first introduced globally in November 2025 and is now officially available in Southeast Asia.
The vehicle is distributed in two versions, with the top-of-the-line Turbo version priced at approximately $109,000 (equivalent to about 2.85 billion VND). According to the manufacturer, the Cayenne Electric is not a converted version of the gasoline-powered model but is developed on a new chassis platform.
The overall design of the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric retains the characteristic style of the Cayenne line with its rounded lines. The front end is highlighted by the slim, multi-functional Matrix LED headlights. The body maintains the familiar Porsche SUV styling with low windows, large wheel arches, and a gently sloping roof.
At the rear, the car features a long LED light strip with dynamic effects and a three-dimensional illuminated logo. It uses large wheels, with 315/35 R22 tires at the rear and 275/40 R22 tires at the front. The charging port is discreetly integrated into the bodywork and opens electronically.
Porsche offers a variety of exterior configurations for the Cayenne Electric, including wheel sizes ranging from 20 to 22 inches. Customers can choose from 13 standard paint colors and 9 wheel designs through the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program.
The display model doesn't reveal interior details, however, Porsche says the car will have a 14.25-inch OLED digital instrument panel and a curved center screen. Additionally, there's an optional 14.9-inch screen for the front passenger. The company retains physical buttons to ensure an intuitive control experience.
The central instrument cluster uses a fully digital screen, combined with touch buttons on either side. The left controls the lighting system, while the right manages functions such as traction control, shock absorber stiffness, air suspension height adjustment, and the camera. The start button is located to the left of the steering wheel, is small in size, and uses plastic material.
The gear shifter is located on the right side and has a simple design. Aside from these two details, the interior uses soft leather materials and boasts a solid finish. The seats are designed to be supportive and comfortable to drive. A large, curved screen sits in the center of the dashboard. Below it are quick temperature adjustment buttons, and advanced climate control settings are integrated into the screen interface.
A notable detail is the leather-wrapped armrest positioned in front of the screen, allowing for more precise touch operation while the vehicle is in motion. Below is a deep storage compartment, connected to the center console, that can hold large bottles or other large items. The front passenger has a separate screen, supporting many of the same features as the central screen but optimized for watching
videos without distracting the driver.
The rear seats offer ample space, are electrically adjustable, and include heating and ventilation depending on the version. The car also has sunshades and a separate air conditioning system for the rear seats. The glass roof is adjustable in transparency and can be tilted open.
The Cayenne Electric uses two electric motors located on the front and rear axles, delivering 408 horsepower. When Launch Control is activated, the maximum power reaches 442 horsepower and torque 835 Nm. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.
The appearance of the Cayenne Electric in Thailand shows that Porsche is gradually introducing it to the region. Currently, the company already distributes electric models such as the Taycan and Macan in Vietnam. Given the expanding electric vehicle lineup, the possibility of adding a large SUV like the Cayenne Electric in the near future is noteworthy.
