Choose your own path.

For many years, the common characteristic of D-segment SUVs in Vietnam has been their design focus on functionality and practicality. Most models in this segment typically have a 7-seat configuration to maximize passenger capacity. Many manufacturers even prioritize diesel variants due to their lower running costs. But the Lynk & Co 08 doesn't follow that path.

Lynk & Co's model takes a different approach with its new premium brand positioning, offering a luxurious cabin experience while remaining fuel-efficient despite running on gasoline.

The 5-seat configuration (out of 8) focuses on passenger comfort in both rows. Cooling and inflatable lumbar support are standard on the front seats. The top-of-the-line Halo model even includes massage functionality, a rare feature on purely internal combustion engine vehicles in this segment.

In an era where technology and digitalization permeate every field, cars are no longer simply a means of transportation for young people. Like other technological devices, the Lynk & Co model also interacts with users through smart features.

For example, the interior ambient lighting can flash in sync with the music from Harmon Kardon's 23-speaker sound system. Or the in-car Face ID/facial recognition system allows for personalized settings. The cockpit focuses on the technology experience with a 15.4-inch, 2.5K touchscreen infotainment system that acts like a connected tablet for the user.

"I believe that those who invest in the Lynk & Co 08 will not feel bored using it, especially when touching, exploring, and discovering the functions on the vehicle," assessed Duong Quang, a safe driving instructor and automotive expert.

Similarly, in terms of exterior design, the 08 also boasts a distinct personality with its sporty SUV coupe style. The minimalist body design, frameless windows, and rearview mirrors separate from the A-pillar are features not commonly seen on traditional SUVs.

The Lynk & Co 08's distinctive design and user-centric philosophy are considered by many experts to have a strong European character, partly due to inheriting some technologies from the luxury car manufacturer Volvo. This helps the Lynk & Co 08 position itself in the premium segment, standing out among a sea of products despite being a relatively new entrant to the market.

Highlights of hybrid technology and driver-assistance safety.

The Lynk & Co 08 wasn't the first to introduce hybrid technology to the D-segment SUV market. However, the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) platform, with its ability to operate on pure electric power for up to 200km, is a first.

The Lynk & Co model features the E-Motive Performance (EM-P) powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (137 hp, 230 Nm) and a P3 electric motor (208 hp, 350 Nm). This system delivers a total output of 345 hp and a maximum torque of 580 Nm. It is paired with a 3-speed 3DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) Evo gearbox.

The EM-P is designed for maximum flexibility depending on the driving mode, such as EV, Hybrid, and Power. The 08 can operate purely on electric power, delivering powerful acceleration like a sports car. Or, when needed, the SUV can drive like a hybrid, sometimes in parallel, sometimes in series, automatically adapting to the user's habits.

Even in hybrid mode, the Lynk & Co 08 prioritizes electric drive. This means the car's setup is always optimized for fuel efficiency while still providing responsive throttle control and quick acceleration. If a powerful engine is also considered a safety feature, the 08 easily scores points in this area compared to its gasoline and diesel competitors in the same segment.

In addition to its hybrid engine, the Lynk & Co 08 also stands out for its safety design thanks to its mechanical structure and driver-assistance systems (ADAS). On the international market, the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating thanks to CMA Evo, a platform jointly developed by Geely and Volvo. This structure consists of 74.94% high-strength steel and 13% hot-stamped steel, according to the manufacturer. The car is equipped with 7 airbags, seat belts with dual tensioners, and a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS).

In terms of ADAS systems, the Lynk & Co 08 is among the most comprehensive in its segment, boasting features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic navigation (Navigate on Autopilot), automatic emergency braking (AEB), cross-traffic alert, active collision avoidance assist (EMA), driver fatigue monitoring (DMS), and child detection…

The Lynk & Co model is currently sold in two versions: the Pro priced at VND 1.299 billion and the Halo priced at VND 1.389 billion. The vehicle comes with a 6-year or 175,000km warranty, whichever comes first. The battery has an 8-year or 200,000km warranty.
