Denmark has been drawn into a group with Portugal, Norway, and Wales in the UEFA Nations League 2026/27, according to the draw held on February 12 in Brussels, Belgium.

In this group, Denmark could face top stars like Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) or Erling Haaland (Norway). The group stage matches will take place from September to November this year. The first round will be held from September 24-26, and the final round from November 15-17.
Denmark is in League A, the highest division of the Nations League. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals, scheduled for March 2027. The finals, featuring the four strongest teams, will take place in June of the same year. Meanwhile, the team finishing last in their group will be relegated to League B.
This also gives Denmark a chance to face Portugal again after their defeat in the 2025 Nations League quarter-finals. Back then, the Nordic team lost 3-5 on aggregate over two legs. Prior to that, they finished second in their group, behind Spain and ahead of Serbia and Switzerland.
The last time Denmark faced Norway was in a friendly match in June 2024 at Brondby Stadium. The home team won 3-1 ahead of that year's EURO finals.
Before embarking on their Nations League campaign, Denmark will play in the World Cup play-offs in March. On March 26th, they will face North Macedonia. If they win, the Danish national team will meet either Ireland or the Czech Republic five days later in a decisive match.
If they win both play-off matches, Denmark will qualify for the World Cup held this summer in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
