While passing by a construction site, Ms. Ha Thi Lanh picked up a firecracker flower plant and brought it home to plant next to her house. Now, after 17 years, the tree has grown tall, embracing the entire house and blooming brilliantly.
In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, a house in Gia Hiep commune, Lam Dong province, located along National Highway 20, unexpectedly became a highlight attracting the attention of locals and tourists alike due to the dazzling beauty of thousands of firecracker flowers.

Ms. Ha Thi Lanh, the owner of this unique house, shared the story of how her love of flowers created this distinctive landscape. Seventeen years ago, she collected discarded firecracker flower plants from a construction site and planted them. "I love flowers, so I brought the firecracker flowers home to beautify my house. Unexpectedly, they grew stronger over time, covering the house and blooming profusely," Ms. Lanh recounted.
After nearly two decades, the firecracker flower tree has grown tall, climbing to completely cover the wooden house in front, where Mrs. Lanh's family runs their grocery store. Its massive trunk, coiled like dragons in artistic sculptures, creates a striking scene.
The flowering season of the firecracker flower usually begins in November and lasts until April of the following year. After that, when Lam Dong enters the rainy season, the trees will focus on growing branches and leaves in preparation for the new flowering season.
To maintain the beauty of their "flower house," Mrs. Lanh and her husband regularly prune the branches and water the plants.
She said that firecracker flowers are rarely affected by pests and diseases, so caring for them isn't too difficult.
Although many people are concerned about snakes and centipedes potentially taking refuge in the dense foliage, Ms. Lanh asserts that her family has never recorded any such cases. On the contrary, when the trees are in bloom, many bees flock to collect nectar, creating a vibrant natural scene.
With its vibrant orange bougainvillea flowers covering the house, this place has become a favorite destination for many locals and tourists.
Every day, Mrs. Lanh's family welcomes dozens of visitors who come to take souvenir photos. Hoang Kim Truong, a tourist from Da Lat, shared: "I've taken many pictures and videos as souvenirs. This is a unique house, so next time I'll bring my friends to visit."
The homeowner has also created additional landscaping so that visitors can freely take photos.
While the flowering trees continue to flourish, creating a peaceful and idyllic atmosphere, the homeowner continues to diligently run her small grocery store. "Seeing the house filled with flowers and many visitors makes our family very happy," shared Mrs. Ha Thi Lanh.
Located next to National Highway 20, the house stands out with the vibrant orange color of its bougainvillea flowers, becoming a unique highlight along this route.
