Ta Xua grassland in the winter months captivates tourists with the pristine beauty of endless stretches of burnt grass hills.

Located approximately 200km from Hanoi , the Ta Xua grassland , in Ta Xua commune, Son La province, lies at an average altitude of 1,500-2,000m above sea level. The vast grasslands are situated amidst an expansive landscape.

While the grasslands are covered in a lush green in summer, from December to February of the following year, the land changes to a new color of scorched grass. Under the harsh winter sun, the hillsides turn a yellowish-brown.

For photography enthusiasts, the Ta Xua grassland during the dry season is a perfect outdoor studio with no "dead angles." Outfits in light colors like white, beige, and pastel blue will help you stand out subtly against the golden grass backdrop. A silk scarf fluttering in the wind or a book in hand will be the perfect accessories to create a poetic, ethereal look amidst the vast wilderness.

To get photos that will garner thousands of likes, tourists should choose a distant shooting angle to capture the endless mountain scenery in their lens.

Arriving at the grassland on a sunny morning, Ms. Quynh Hoa (a tourist from Hanoi) excitedly shared: “People often advise taking photos in the afternoon to capture the sunset, but in my opinion, the morning still has its own beauty and isn't too crowded. As long as the weather is favorable and the sun is shining brightly, the burnt grass color looks beautiful whether it's morning or afternoon.”

Nestled amidst the grassy hills is a charming little café with both a cozy indoor space and a breezy outdoor area. Customers can enjoy a variety of drinks here at reasonable prices, ranging from just 40,000 to 60,000 VND.

You can sip a warm cup of coffee or tea, gazing at the vast, fluffy sea of clouds on a beautiful day, with the rolling hills and mountains of scorched grass behind you, feeling as if all your worries have been swept away by the wind.

Currently, the entrance fee to visit the grassland is 35,000 VND per person. Along the same route to the grassland, visitors can combine their trip with visits to other famous landmarks such as Dolphin Rock and the Lonely Tree .
