Born on December 29, 1995, Flossie was officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's longest-living cat in November 2022. At that time, this calico cat was about to celebrate her 27th birthday.
As of now, Flossie has reached the age of 30.
The average lifespan of a domestic cat is typically around 14 years, but this can vary depending on breed, diet, and living environment.
Despite her declining eyesight and hearing due to age, Flossie doesn't seem to let any physical barriers slow her down.
However, Flossie is not the longest-living cat in history. That record belongs to Creme Puff, a calico mix who lived to be 38 years and 3 days old.
Jake Perry, the owner of Creme Puff, once revealed that his cat's longevity diet included eggs, turkey bacon, broccoli, creamed coffee, and even a drop of red wine every two days to "boost circulation."
Although veterinary experts remain skeptical about the scientific validity of this diet, no one can deny the miraculous results Perry has achieved.
Mr. Perry is not only the owner of Creme Puff, but he also used to own Grandpa Rex Allen, another cat that held the record for longevity at 34 years.
