The 2026 Kia Sorento receives a host of upgrades in safety and convenience technology, and will soon be phasing out its naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine variants.
The detailed pricing for the 2026 Kia Sorento SUV has been announced for the Australian market. One of the key highlights of this new version is the new generation Lane Following Assist 2 system. Kia states that this technology provides more precise and less disruptive steering control by directly intervening in the steering angle instead of through a power steering system as before.
Accompanying this is a sensor that detects hands placed on the steering wheel, working in conjunction with the torque sensor to ensure the driver maintains control of the vehicle and prevent misuse of the assistance feature. Additionally, the 2026 Kia Sorento also features interior ambient lighting on the front doors for the GT-Line variant, further enhancing the interior ambiance.
At the same time, the four versions equipped with the 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine and front-wheel drive are entering the clearance phase and will cease production in the second quarter of 2026. This means the Sorento is about to lose its position as the only model in the Australian market offering all four powertrain options: gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid.
The 2026 Sorento continues to maintain its 5-star safety rating from ANCAP, although this rating is from 2020 and will expire on December 31, 2026. In terms of safety, all versions are equipped with adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and intersection turn assist.
The vehicle features a blind spot warning system, driver attention monitoring, intelligent speed limit warning, lane keeping assist, multi-collision braking, rear seat occupant alert, rear cross-traffic alert, safe door opening warning, tire pressure monitoring system, front/rear sensors, and a rearview camera.
Additionally, it comes with a full complement of airbags: front, side, center, and curtain airbags for the first two rows of seats. The GT-Line version adds a blind-spot camera, rear parking brake assist, advanced door open warning, side parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. Two of the newest features, the upgraded lane-keeping assist system and steering-sensing sensors, are also present on this top-of-the-line model.
The 2026 Kia Sorento in the Australian market will continue to be offered with four trim levels: S, Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line. Each trim level comes with a range of distinctive features, from 17- to 20-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more.
The car is also equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic sunroof, multi-directional power-adjustable Nappa leather seats with memory function, ventilation and heating, as well as premium interior details such as a suede headliner and a digital instrument panel.
In the Australian market, the 2026 Kia Sorento starts at AUD 51,380 (approximately USD 35,500 - around VND 909 million). In Vietnam, the new generation Kia Sorento was launched in September 2025 with the top-of-the-line Signature version, offering a choice of petrol or diesel engines, and an optional AWD system.
The new Kia Sorento in Vietnam is priced at VND 1.389 billion and VND 1.249 billion respectively for the 2.2D Signature FWD and 2.5G Signature FWD versions, including VAT. The AWD version adds VND 80 million and includes a panoramic sunroof and off-road mode.
