The Honda Civic Type R has long been a favorite platform for many tuning companies, and the latest version – the 6th generation Civic Type R – is no exception. At the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, the Civic Type R ARTA GT was officially unveiled, marking a collaboration between Honda and the Autobacs Racing Team Aguri (ARTA).
Even in its standard version, the Civic Type R boasts a powerful
, sporty design. However, the ARTA GT version features further aerodynamic upgrades to improve stability at high speeds and deliver an even more aggressive appearance. The overall dimensions of the car have also been increased: 4,635 mm long, 1,955 mm wide, and 1,395 mm high.
The ARTA GT's exterior features a unique design, including a new front bumper, grille, and front fenders. Details such as the under-spoiler, canards, and hood air intakes are all made of carbon fiber.
At the rear, the car features two-piece fender flares, a rear bumper, side skirts, a large rear wing, and mounting brackets and side panels – all made from carbon fiber. There are also wing and rear spoiler mounts on the trunk. The special ARTA Orange paint color is an optional extra.
In terms of performance, the Civic Type R ARTA GT features an upgraded ARTA x HKS exhaust system, ARTA x HKS intercooler, HKS high-performance ECU, sports turbocharger, HKS oil cooler, and Cusco Type-RS limited-slip differential.
The chassis has also been upgraded with 18-inch forged ARTA wheels, paired with Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RZ tires in size 295/35R18. The suspension system is a two-way adjustable system from KW.
The front brakes utilize AP Racing Pro 5000R 6-piston calipers with 365 mm diameter two-piece brake discs and semi-metallic brake pads. The standard rear brake is upgraded with semi-metallic brake pads and stainless steel-clad brake lines.
The interior has also been comprehensively upgraded with a pair of Recaro RSS ASM Limited racing seats, a Sparco sports steering wheel with quick-release function, and a new center console replacing the standard function buttons on the steering wheel.
The price for the ARTA GT upgrade package for the new-generation Honda Civic Type R is 13,500,000 yen (approximately 2.24 billion VND), including installation and painting costs, but excluding the price of the original Civic Type R.
However, the cost of customizing the Honda Civic Type R isn't the only hurdle, as Honda is only producing a limited run of 20 units, and the right to purchase will be allocated through a lucky draw.
