Former NMIXX member Jini has officially returned to the K-pop scene under a new name and in a completely new group. Now reintroduced as Yuni, she has debuted as part of OWIS, a virtual K-pop girl group that is already drawing attention for its concept and storytelling approach.
From Jini to Yuni
Jini’s re debut as Yuni’s marks a clear shift in direction. After her departure from NMIXX, expectations around her return were high but few expected her to reappear as part of a virtual idol group. With OWIS, her comeback is not just about music, but about entering a hybrid space between reality and digital identity, reflecting how K-pop itself is evolving and more and more virtual groups are popping up ready to reshape and break boundaries.
What Is OWIS?
OWIS is a virtual girl group under All My Aesthetic Dots, consisting of five members:
- Serin
- Haru
- Summer
- Soi
- Yuni
The group officially debuted on March 23 with their first mini album ‘MUSEUM’.
Unlike other traditional K-pop groups OWIS is combining animation and charming storytelling creating a universe where people can join them and dream.
Their debut title track ‘MUSEUM’ sets the tone for the group’s identity. The song, built on a soft guitar-driven melody, explores the idea of rediscovering forgotten memories and collecting emotional “missing pieces”. Member Summer participated in writing the lyrics, adding a more personal layer to the narrative.
The music video feels like an animated film showing how the members are navigating memories as they fall asleep.
OWIS’ debut mini album ‘MUSEUM’ is structured like a curated exhibition. The album includes 8 tracks, such as:
- ‘airplane:143’
- ‘juicy’
- ‘forNEVER’
Each track represents a different emotional fragment, forming a cohesive narrative when experienced together.
Alongside their debut, OWIS introduced their fandom name IZZ (In the ZZZ Zone) the name reflecting the group’s concept a space where fans and members meet in a dreamlike state, “when the world is asleep.”
