Actor Park Bo-gum is drawing attention for his relentless work ethic and attention to detail in tvN’s upcoming variety program ‘Bogum Magical,’ according to co-star Kwak Dong-yeon.
“Never Once Finished on Time”
Ahead of the show’s premiere, tvN released a pre-recorded press conference video on January 29, offering a glimpse into the cast’s chemistry and the program’s behind the scenes dynamics. ‘Bogum Magical’ follows Park Bo-gum, Lee Sang-yi, and Kwak Dong-yeon as they operate a temporary barbershop in a quiet rural village providing haircuts while sharing conversations and comfort with local residents.
During the press event, Kwak Dong-yeon spoke candidly about Park Bo-gum’s intense commitment to his role as the shop’s head barber. The two actors have maintained a close friendship since appearing together in the 2016 drama ‘Love in the Moonlight.’ “There was always a set closing time,” Kwak said. “But we never once finished on time. That’s how strong his sense of responsibility was.”
Kwak added that Park’s approach changed noticeably when he stepped into the role of shop owner. “As a friend, he’s very easygoing. But as the shop’s director, he was completely focused,” he said, recalling moments when Park repeatedly asked for different tools while assisting customers.
Praised for Preparation and Professionalism
Actor Lee Sang-yi also praised Park Bo-gum’s unexpected skill set, particularly his precision as a barber. “He’s very neat and careful,” Lee said. “He trimmed my hair slightly, and I was genuinely satisfied with the result.” Kwak echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the preparation Park undertook to meet customers’ expectations. “He studied and practiced so he wouldn’t miss what people of different ages and genders wanted,” he said. “That level of preparation really stood out.”
A Barbershop Focused on Healing
‘Bogum Magical’ centers on Park Bo-gum, who holds a national barber license and handles hair services, Lee Sang-yi, who manages customer interactions, and Kwak Dong-yeon, who takes charge of cooking. Together, the trio aim to create a welcoming space where people can feel listened to and cared for.
The program is set to premiere on January 30 at 8:40 p.m. KST on tvN.
