aespa Drops ‘Dirty Work’ — Grit, Steel, and a Million Fans Strong

K-pop girl group aespa is back — and this time, they’re not afraid to get a little dirty.

On June 27, aespa released their new single ‘Dirty Work’, a synth-driven dance track packed with icy vocals, chill vibes, and fierce attitude. The song delivers a message of unapologetic self-agency and solidarity, echoing aespa’s evolution from futuristic AI icons to full-blown resistance leaders — at least in their latest music video.

The concept? Industrial, cinematic, and powerfully symbolic. The Dirty Work MV was filmed at an actual steel factory in collaboration with a real Korean steel company — a creative move that underscores aespa’s signature “metallic” sound and aesthetic. In the video, the four members transform into gritty rebels who take on “dirty work” to protect each other, turning sparks, sweat, and steel into something oddly beautiful.

The single album includes four versions of Dirty Work: the original, an English version, an instrumental, and a special collaboration featuring rising U.S. rapper Flo Milli. It’s aespa’s first time officially linking up with an American hip-hop act — and the blend of Flo Milli’s sharp bars with aespa’s polished production feels surprisingly seamless.

Even before its release, Dirty Work was a certified hit. As of June 26, pre-orders surpassed 1.01 million units, putting it on track to become aespa’s sixth million-seller — following Girls, MY WORLD, Drama, Armageddon, and Whiplash. The group’s global reach was further cemented by the performance video, which is already nearing 20 million views just two weeks after it dropped.

On July 4, aespa is also launching a limited edition version of the single — the Dirty Crew Ring Ver. — a collectible designed to symbolize the group’s bond with their fans.

aespa’s momentum isn’t limited to digital charts and YouTube views. On June 24, the group made history as the first K-pop girl group to headline Morocco’s Mawazine Festival, one of the largest music events in the world. Performing on the main stage in Rabat, they captivated thousands with their polished set and undeniable global star power.
