Koenigsegg has unveiled a new limited-production hypercar called Sadair’s Spear, developed as a focused evolution of the Jesko. The vehicle pays tribute to Jesko von Koenigsegg, father of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg, and is named after Sadair, the horse Jesko rode in his final race in 1976. Only 30 examples of this model will be produced.

Sadair’s Spear introduces several aerodynamic and mechanical refinements designed to enhance on-track performance. Extensive development by Koenigsegg’s CFD team has resulted in revised bodywork that increases downforce at lower speeds and improves airflow for engine cooling and intake. A new top-mounted rear wing featuring a double-blade design, combined with underfloor strakes and wheel arch louvres, enhances high-speed stability and traction. At the front, larger canards, an enlarged hood vent, and the continued use of the brand’s Triplex suspension and Active Ride Height system provide improved steering response and grip during aggressive cornering.

Under the rear clamshell, the car retains Koenigsegg’s 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, now tuned to deliver 1300 hp on standard gasoline and 1625 hp when using E85 biofuel. This increase is attributed to revised engine mapping and improved airflow from new rear hood scoops. Torque output peaks at 1500 Nm at 5100 rpm, with a redline of 8500 rpm. Power is managed through Koenigsegg’s in-house 9-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST), which uses multiple wet clutches to enable ultra-fast gear changes between any forward gear. Shifting is limited to steering wheel–mounted paddles; the traditional gear selector has been removed and replaced with a center-mounted key holder to reduce weight.

Inside, the focus remains on minimalism and function. The interior includes carbon fiber seats with the option of six-point harnesses for track use, while retaining comfort features such as Koenigsegg’s SmartCluster digital display, SmartCenter infotainment system, USB connectivity, wireless charging, and the brand’s Autoskin opening system. The lightweight center console and reconfigured interior layout reflect the vehicle’s purpose-built intent.

According to Christian von Koenigsegg, every detail of Sadair’s Spear was approached with the goal of optimizing performance through incremental gains. From weight reduction to aerodynamic improvements and power delivery, the car was built with the track in mind. He emphasized that creating a special edition like this requires more than just tuning—it involves refining every element down to the smallest detail.

Sadair’s Spear marks the final chapter in Koenigsegg’s tribute to Jesko von Koenigsegg, and embodies the company’s philosophy of relentless innovation and precision engineering. With bespoke components, higher output, lighter construction, and sharpened aerodynamics, the car represents Koenigsegg’s most dedicated track machine to date.
