Google is expanding its AI-powered Gemini experience in Chrome to more users across the Asia Pacific region, including the Philippines.
The rollout follows earlier availability in select markets such as the United States, Canada, India, and New Zealand.
Gemini in Chrome brings an AI assistant directly into the browser, allowing users to interact with web content without switching tabs or apps.
Through a side panel or floating window, users can summarize long articles, compare information across multiple tabs, and ask contextual questions based on what they’re viewing.
The tool also connects with Google services, enabling actions such as drafting emails in Gmail, checking locations in Maps, scheduling events in Calendar, and asking questions about YouTube videos.
Another feature allows users to modify images on webpages using text prompts, while “personal intelligence” capabilities enable the AI to remember context from past interactions for more tailored responses.
On desktop, Gemini can be accessed from the Chrome toolbar, keyboard shortcuts, or system tray. It is also rolling out to Chrome on iOS, although availability varies by region.
The expansion reflects Google’s broader push to integrate AI tools directly into everyday browsing, turning Chrome into a more interactive and assistant-driven experience.
