If there’s one thing Rolls-Royce is good at, it’s creating one-off coachbuilt units for their opulent clientele. We’ve seen multiple over the years, and they are indeed stunning like the Droptail and the Sweptail.

Now, Rolls-Royce is applying their coachbuilding skills to their electric vehicles. Meet Project Nightingale. This is the first model launched as part of the brand’s new limited run Coachbuild Collection program, which will be limited to just 100 units globally.

Project Nightingale rides on the same platform as the current Spectre EV, featuring two electric motors. Specific details about the powertrain were not revealed, but it should have around the similar power figures.

Then again, power figures and top speed aren’t the point of a car like Project Nightingale. The main attraction is the completely redesigned exterior unique to this vehicle alone. Rolls-Royce says the car is inspired by 1920s prototypes – 16EX and 17EX – with slim vertical slats for headlights and taillights.

The car rides on massive 24-inch twist wheels and features a wide Pantheon grille. The entire vehicle is then painted in a unique shade of blue called Cote d’Azur Blue with red flakes infused in the paint.

Even from the photos, it’s easy to tell that the car is massive. It measures 5.67 meters long, making it almost the same length as the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Unlike the Phantom though, this one is a two seater convertible. Makes us wish Rolls-Royce still offered the Phantom Drophead.

To match the Cote d’Azur inspired exterior, the interior is finished in a white-blue color theme. Since there’s no roof, no Starlight headliner here. Instead, it features the brand’s Starlight Breeze Suite – 10,500 individual stars that extend from the door panel up to the rear seats.

There’s no word whether the 100 unit run of Rolls-Royce’s Coachbuild Collection is already accounted for. But one thing’s for sure, they’re definitely expensive.
