Bentley Motors has revealed the new Bentayga X Concept during the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria. The one-off concept is designed to gather customer and public feedback for a more off-road-focused Bentayga variant, while also marking the start of a new multi-year partnership between Bentley and FAT International.

The Bentayga lineup is already known for combining performance, luxury, and off-road ability. Within the range, the Bentayga Speed prioritizes performance and top speed, while the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase focuses on rear passenger comfort. The Bentayga X Concept explores a third direction — pushing off-road capability further than any previous Bentayga.

The concept is based on the Bentayga Speed and features a 650 PS (641 hp) 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, permanent all-wheel drive, and an eight-speed transmission. It retains Bentley’s air suspension system and Bentley Dynamic Ride, the brand’s 48V active anti-roll control system.

Significant chassis and hardware changes were made to improve off-road performance. The Bentayga X Concept rides on forged one-piece 22-inch wheels developed by Brixton, fitted with high-profile off-road tires. Track width has been increased by 120 mm to improve stability, while ride height has been raised by 55 mm to improve suspension travel and ground clearance. Wheel arches were moved outward by 40 mm to accommodate the wider stance.

As a result, the concept achieves a wading depth of more than 550 mm and ground clearance just under 310 mm.

Exterior modifications focus on function. The vehicle features roof-mounted storage and four auxiliary spotlights to support extended off-road trips. For demonstration, the roof rack carries a Bambino-size electric go-kart used in the FAT Karting League, highlighting additional cargo capability. With the roof equipment installed, the total vehicle height reaches 2.49 metres. At the rear, the Akrapovic titanium sports exhaust remains, while twin front towing eyes have been added.

The debut took place at the FAT Ice Race, an automotive culture festival featuring multiple racing classes, including the mixed-discipline Skijöring event, as well as exhibitions of rare and high-performance cars. Bentley’s participation marks the beginning of a broader partnership with FAT International, which will include appearances at the FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, at the end of February and a planned 24-hour takeover of FAT Mankei in Austria later this year.

Bentley also displayed several other models at the event. These include Travis Pastrana’s Supersports with a unique livery shown shortly after the Supersports: FULL SEND launch in Dubai, the newly announced Continental GTC S, and the Continental GT S, which made its global dynamic debut on ice. A Bentayga Speed and a Speed Six Continuation Series Car Zero from Mulliner were also present.

Several notable drivers participated. Broadcaster and car culture personality Chris Harris drove the Bentayga Speed in the Skijöring event, towing Norwegian freestyle skier Hedvig Wessel. French racing driver Laura Villars drove the Continental GT S, while Bentley Heritage Collection head Mike Sayer drove the Speed Six.

FAT International began as a European logistics company that transported fashion goods and sponsored motorsports to promote its express delivery services. The brand gained recognition after the Dauer 962 LM secured overall victory at the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Today, FAT International operates as a clothing brand and organizer of automotive community events such as the FAT Ice Race and FAT Mankei. It also runs the FAT Karting League, which focuses on grassroots motorsport using electric karts built on Birel chassis and engineered with F1-level precision. The league aims to build a global racing community while promoting entry-level participation in motorsport.

The Bentayga X Concept suggests Bentley is evaluating a stronger off-road stance for the Bentayga range, based on customer and enthusiast feedback.
