Mazda Philippines has announced an extended warranty for the high-voltage lithium-ion batteries used in its HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) range. The warranty on the 24V and 48V lithium-ion batteries in models like the Mazda3 HEV, Mazda CX-30 HEV, Mazda CX-60 HEV, and Mazda CX-90 HEV will now cover five years, up from the previous three years. This extension applies to all units sold since the models’ introductions in the Philippine market, starting in October 2021.

The Mazda HEV batteries are equipped with advanced temperature management systems to optimize performance based on driving conditions. These systems prevent excessive heat, helping to extend battery life and improve efficiency. The batteries also feature a dedicated Power Control Module (PCM) to regulate charging and discharging, ensuring longevity.

Mazda’s HEV system integrates the 24V and 48V lithium-ion batteries with Skyactiv engine technology to enhance driving performance while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Features like regenerative braking capture energy during deceleration, which can be used to boost acceleration or reduce reliance on the internal combustion engine.

The extended 5-year battery warranty is in addition to Mazda’s 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and its 5-year or 100,000-kilometer free Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) package—the industry’s longest program of its type.

Mazda owners can visit any of its dealerships across the Philippines for more information on the warranty extension.
