Bugatti has unveiled the F.K.P. Hommage, a one-off hypercar created under its Programme Solitaire (read more about Programme Solitaire here), marking 20 years since the debut of the Bugatti Veyron and honoring Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the engineer who led the brand’s modern revival. Yes, the Veyron is at a point in its life where it already has a homage.

The original Veyron was the stuff of dreams that redefined performance expectations with 1001 hp, a top speed beyond 400 km/h, and a level of refinement uncommon for a car of its capabilities. Bugatti says the F.K.P. Hommage continues that philosophy, combining the Veyron’s original proportions with two decades of technical development.

Built on the latest evolution of Bugatti’s W16 platform, the F.K.P. Hommage uses the 1,600 hp quad-turbocharged engine introduced in the Chiron Super Sport. The engine features larger turbochargers, upgraded intercoolers, improved cooling, and a reinforced dual-clutch gearbox designed to handle increased torque. Bugatti notes that this specification represents the peak of W16 development.

The exterior retains the Veyron’s distinctive rearward-leaning stance and dropping beltline but features fully revised surfaces. The horseshoe grille is now three-dimensional and machined from a solid aluminum block, blending more seamlessly into the bodywork. Larger front air intakes improve cooling, while the signature air ducts behind the cabin remain. Wheel sizes have increased to 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, paired with the latest Michelin tires.

A new paint process is used for the exterior finish. A silver aluminum base layer sits beneath a red-tinted clear coat to create depth, while exposed carbon fiber panels feature a black-tinted clear coat rather than conventional black paint.

Inside, the F.K.P. Hommage departs significantly from recent W16 models such as the Chiron and Mistral. The cabin features a bespoke circular steering wheel inspired by the original Veyron, along with a custom center console and tunnel cover machined from solid aluminum. Bugatti has also introduced custom Car Couture fabrics woven exclusively in Paris, expanding personalization beyond leather.

A centerpiece of the interior is an integrated 41 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon, commissioned at the request of the car’s future owner. Mounted within an engine-turned aluminum “island,” the watch is mechanically powered by the car through a rotating gondola system, without any electrical connection.

According to Bugatti, the F.K.P. Hommage was developed in close collaboration with the client, with multiple design and engineering iterations. The car is the second creation under Programme Solitaire, following Brouillard. The program allows Bugatti to produce up to two fully bespoke vehicles per year, each with reimagined bodywork, interiors, and individualized specifications tied to the brand’s heritage.
